Overnight Sosaties (Kebabs)

 

  • 1 Whole leg of lamb cut up into cubes (you could also use this recipe for your chops)
  • 2 large onions – sliced
  • 2 cups of apricot jam (preserve)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¾ teaspoon pepper
  • 3 heaping tablespoons of curry powder
  • 3 tablespoons vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons water

 

  1. Sauté the onions.
  2. Make a paste out of all of the dry ingredients and the vinegar.
  3. Add to the onions and mix well until the oils from the spices have come out. If you are afraid it might burn, adds tiny amounts of water as needed.
  4. Add the jam.
  5. Once it is all well combined, pour it over the cubed meat.
  6. Allow to lay covered overnight, stirring the meat occasionally to rotate the mixture.
  7. Use a skewer stick to drive through the meat, making kebabs.
  8. Slowly roast over a barbeque, while using your favorite salt to season it as needed.
